The year of π€π©π°π°π΄πͺπ―π¨ creativity
January 5, 2026
A direct line from my art table to your inbox—where creativity, connection, and a little chaos collide.
I’ve been thinking a lot about 2026 and the way I want to move through this year, and the phrase that keeps coming back to me is:
2026: the year of choosing creativity.
Not in a big, dramatic, overhaul-your-life kind of way.
Not with rules or quotas or pressure.
But in a noticing kind of way.
Lately, I’ve been paying attention to how creativity already shows up in my days — especially during the moments when I’m quick to tell myself I’m “not doing enough.”
And what I’m realizing is… creativity is already everywhere.
Sometimes it looks like a full, messy art session in my studio.
Other days it’s a few marks on a page.
Or choosing to journal instead of scroll.
Or doodling while listening to a podcast.
Or taking a quiet pause to check in with how I’m actually feeling.
Those things count. They’re part of the practice.
What’s been helping me is simply taking note of these moments. Writing them down. Not to track or measure myself — but to honor them. And interestingly enough, the more I notice them, the more I want to keep choosing creativity again the next day.
I’m still figuring out what this looks like for me. Right now, I’m jotting these moments down in my everything journal (see photo above) — sometimes reflecting on the day before, sometimes keeping a small designated space for the week so I don’t forget. It’s an experiment. A gentle one. No pressure to “do it right.”
And I wanted to share this with you because I know I’m not alone in needing that reminder that creativity doesn’t have to be loud or impressive to be meaningful.

One of the ways I’m intentionally choosing creativity this year is by dedicating the first two weeks of February to the BB Bash.
If you haven’t already, I really encourage you to mark your calendar now and start thinking about how you can protect even a few minutes a day for yourself during that time. Five minutes counts. Showing up imperfectly counts.
I’ve seen firsthand what those two weeks can do — and I can’t wait to do it alongside you again.
The doors for the BB Bash and BB Bash Beyond open one week from today, and I’ll send you all the details then. π₯°
In the meantime, if you’re feeling the nudge to start fostering a daily creative practice right now, there’s a free event starting today that I think you might really enjoy.

It’s called Collage Breakthrough, hosted by my friend Cat Rains, and the first call goes live in about an hour. It’s a beautiful way to begin noticing and choosing creativity in small, doable ways — without needing to go full force or do everything perfectly.
If it feels supportive, I’d love to see you there. Join for free here
