I'm back home after being away for a week (we were visiting my husband's parents). And let me tell you, the dreary skies we are having today make me reminisce on the scenic skies we experienced in Wyoming. There is nothing quite like the sun setting behind the mountains. 

The weather was on our side, and we enjoyed sitting outside each night as the clouds rolled across the skies and the sun fell behind the mountains. Living in Iowa, we don't have much in terms of elevation -- so this was a real treat. 

I usually forget to pull my phone out to document the experience, but I remembered to take a couple of snaps. Here's a couple of my favorites →

 

Status Report: Travel Art Bag

I'm happy to report that the travel art kit I put together was a success! I had everything that I needed to create art while I was away - without it feeling like I had overpacked. If you missed it last week, I shared everything that I put in my travel art bag.

The bag I used is currently under $20! After using and traveling with it, I'm very impressed with the quality - and I highly recommend! The canvas is heavy duty, and I love all of the pockets and compartments. (I even purchased a second one in the XL size for a work bag. It fits my 16 inch laptop, no problem!)

In addition, my Travel Art Carryall has now been road tested - and I'm thrilled with the results. It fits perfectly in one of the middle compartments of my travel bag - and it held all of my essentials (plus more) no problem! I brought this cutie little journal with me, and started working in it while I was away. It's the perfect pocket size, and the green cover is fabulous 😍 These pages quickly transformed into an abstract spread, however the first pencil lines I scribbled were inspired by the mountains in the distance.
