Creative Card Making for Mother's Day
An Art Tutorial
I think the process for this card symbolizes life … we start with a plan, but then we have to adapt and make the best out of the situation we are in. Okay, that sounds a bit dramatic for making a Mother’s Day Card 😂 But, I had an idea in mind and things didn’t necessarily go according to plan.
There was a point when I thought to myself, I should start over because this won’t be the most ”clean-cut” tutorial to post. But, then that ended up being the main reason I told myself to keep going. It’s great when I can share with all of you the times were everything goes smoothly. On the other hand, I think creative problem-solving skills are something that we must hone and develop over time. It’s through the times of pushing through the difficulties that we learn how to navigate the “mishaps.”
When the final piece came together, despite not following the original plan, it felt right. My Mother’s Day card ended up being a mix of unexpected twists and personal flair—exactly the kind of project I love. Through this, I hope to inspire others to embark on their creative projects with an open mind, to see beyond the imperfections, and to find beauty in the evolution of their creations. Whether you’re crafting a card or facing any kind of creative block, remember, it’s about the journey and the surprises along the way that make the end result truly rewarding.
Do you make homemade cards for special occasions? I’d love to see it! Share with me @bbhenry_art!
