Collage Clusters and Botanical Elements
Play Along Journal Series Week 39
Check it out, in this video I am sharing things I love from using handwritten patterns for a yummy backdrop, to adding layers with sponges and white gesso. For me, adding handwriting brings a personal touch to a journal and is a cathartic experience for me, it feels like freely expressing myself without the pressure of it being readable to the viewer. I’m also using collage elements and drawing botanical features, adding whimsy and character to the pages.
The second spread of the week was a quicker, simpler one, using Neocolor 2’s to draw wonky pebble shapes and incorporating pre-made elements like stitched fabric and hand-dyed ribbons.
