Simplicity speaks volumes: Knowing When to Stop
Play Along Journal Series Week 14 Part 2
Grab your favorite art supplies and let's dive into this art journal adventure! In this particular spread, I embraced a simple approach. Starting with some scribbles to eliminate the overwhelming initial blankness of the page, I then outlined the smaller section with a black China marker to enhance its visual presence.
TIP → Starting with some simple scribbles on a blank page can help loosen your mind and hands, making it easier to get started.
Instead of using black paint, try black gesso for its opacity and quick drying time. I think it is perfect for creating a bold black background that's ready for contrasting white elements. I added a large number sticker and outlined it with a white correction pen to add some boldness, and I decided to tie everything by adding a touch of color by smudging an oil pastel in the background.
