Creating a Cohesive Collage Spread with Neutral Colors
Soft Neutral Collage Spread Part 2
Continuing from last week, I worked on the right side of this art journal spread. Usually, I tackle both sides together to ensure cohesion, but this time I did them separately. Last week, I completed the left side (check out part 1 to see the process). Today, I'm focusing on the right side and showing how to unify the two pages seamlessly!
It’s always fascinating to see how you can bring elements from one side to the other without using the exact same materials. Keeping the theme light and neutral with those soft earth tones and collage elements brought everything together in a pleasant way. I love experimenting with different techniques, and for this one, I switched up the order a bit. This time, I started with more collage pieces on the right side, whereas on the left I had more paint to begin with. It just goes to show there’s no right or wrong way to approach your art. Changing things up can yield some beautiful, unexpected results!
Also, integrating those little scribbles and white highlights really pulled the whole spread together, making it feel cohesive as if it was created in one go. I’m super happy with the end result, and I can’t wait to hear what you all think!
If you missed part 1, be sure to check it out for the full experience.
