Moon Inspired Art - "Lunar" Prompt - 5 Minute Challenge
5 Minute Art Challenge - Day 2 - Prompt: Lunar
hosted by: The Ugly Art Club
I had so much fun brainstorming and creating based on the lunar prompt for Day 2. This prompt sparked so much creativity and inspiration for me. I started by adding some scribbles just to get me going. It gets rid of that blank page fear that kind of sets in when you're starting, and you don't know what step to take first. Black and white aesthetics can create powerful visual dynamics. I used a monochrome approach to add depth and dimension to this celestial theme.

I decided to create a bonus spread to complement the main art piece for day 2. My intention was to keep it simple and repetitive, but as I got into the process, I found myself adding abstract elements that worked well with the main spread. I also used a found stamp from a spool of thread, which added some interesting inconsistencies to the design. Preparedness is key - having materials in sight and mind aids creativity. For me, that's a really important thing. A lot of times, it's that out-of-sight, out-of-mind type of feeling. And so when we can have them within our sight of reference, I find that it's a lot easier to get inspired by those items to think what to do next.
