Incorporating Handwriting for Therapeutic Expression
Play Along Journal Series Week 12 Part 1
I'm diving into my mustard mini journal, ready to add some texture and interest to its pages. I started by incorporating some hand stitching along the envelope. I love adding those random stitches without overthinking it, letting my intuition guide me, and the messy and organic feel it gives to my art. This envelope serves as the perfect pocket to tuck in little tags or unconventional shapes like circles, and stitching pattern papers around to make them pop!
I wanted to infuse the right side of the page with a pattern that speaks to me. One of my favorite techniques is bringing text into my art. Whether it's snippets of book pages or my own handwriting. Embracing the therapeutic nature of journaling, I can pour my thoughts and feelings onto the page, even if they're not meant to be read back. This form of art journaling holds a special place in my heart.
