Exploring the Messy and Organic Art Process
Play Along Journal Series Week 9 Part 2
In this journal, I utilize water-soluble graphite pastels, collage bits, and the magical blending powers of white gesso. I'll guide you through various techniques and share my favorite paints, like the captivating Nickel Azo Gold from Golden. Plus I experiment with colors, finger blending, unexpected tools, and even incorporate designed deli paper for that extra little something.
What I love about this play-along journal series is that it allows me to showcase the real, raw process of creating journal spreads. Sometimes things fall into place beautifully, and other times, not so much. And you know what? That's okay because imperfection is a part of life, and it's important to embrace it.
Art journaling, especially the messy kind, has taught me a valuable lesson about letting go of perfection and enjoying the creative process itself. It's okay to be messy. It's okay to just enjoy the process. What's therapeutic is the process, playing and letting go and letting loose.
