Mixing It Up: Watercolors & Acrylics
Play Along Journal Series Week 10 Part 2
Grab your favorite art supplies, and I'll show you how to add watercolor effortlessly, utilizing the unique texture of different papers. I'm pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone by adding a multitude of colors together. And of course, the lovely teal, which will tie this spread in with the rest of the journal flawlessly.
I began by adding watercolor to the left side of the page, allowing the right side, made of watercolor paper, to absorb the excess water beautifully. To mitigate any issues with water seeping through to other pages, I applied a thin layer of clear gesso, which worked wonders. While it may not replicate the behavior of watercolor paper perfectly, I find it genuinely fascinating to observe how different papers adapt and change the characteristics of the paint.
