Play Along Journal Series Week 13 Part 2
I want to share with you all the progress I've made in my play along journal series. For this spread, I focused on adding some unique elements to my art journal to enhance its overall appeal. Have you tried the "reverse effect" technique? Apply white gesso, then use a wooden skewer to mark through the wet paint. It creates a cool reverse effect. Add some water soluble color and blend with water for a dreamy look! It's incredible how these mediums can totally transform the look and feel of a page!
Throughout my creative process, I sometimes found myself debating whether to include a quote or not. However, after tearing around it and reflecting on the overall aesthetics, I decided to add it. To make it stand out, I outlined it with a China marker and carefully went around the edges with some black gesso, making the quote pop from the page.
Fun Fact: Did you know that I keep all my little thread scraps in a jar on my desk to create thread beads and use them in various ways in my art journaling?
